Switch DXB is a first of its kind, video driven, health, fitness & wellbeing marketplace of activities and experiences that users can search, browse, view videos, book & pay for on demand.

With no memberships or subscriptions, users can do what they want, when they want, enabling them to experience a range of different activities that suits their lifestyle, goals and social circles.

The app is available on the App Store & is free to download. Users can search for something that they like the look of & watch a 40-60 second video to help them decide if they'd like to go.

Once a user has found an activity/class/experience/session they'd like to do, all they need to do is choose a time (based on live availability) and then pay using a debit/credit card to secure their spot. The payment is then held until the session is complete - then it's released to the service provider (much like Airbnb / Uber).

Switch DXB has developed proprietary technology/software to enable service providers to manage their availability, pricing and session descriptions - helping our partners to sell more of their service.

When a service provider signs an agreement with Switch DXB, a custom video is produced to showcase their services on the app. Video content production is one of Switch's key value adding pillars to our partners. This content is also utilised for digital and social media marketing.

Switch DXB has created unique commercial partnerships with some of Dubai's leading hotel brands to make the app (& its services) available to hotels guests, residents & visitors. This unique offering makes Switch relevant to both residents and visitors - giving access to the 16m people that visit Dubai annually, as well as the 3m residents.

Switch is targeting a total of 250k unique downloads of the app in the 24 months to January 2020. A breakdown of this figure is provided in the analysis of distribution channels in section 4 of the IM.

Given the size of the potential combined catchment base of UAE residents, tourists and travellers 'in-transit' through DXB airport over a two-year period (c. 161mn people in total) calculated as:
" 38mn tourists + 122mn (160-38mn) passengers 'in-transit', + 1 mn ((approx. 9mn * 60% (target age range) *20% (western expatriate demographic))

The Switch management team believe therefore that of the total potential catchment base, 250k target user downloads (or 0.125%) is realistic and achievable over the first two years.

The primary uses of funds raised will be a contribution to:

1. Ongoing Tech/Product Development
The Switch management team have a comprehensive tech development roadmap in place, with new features, product enhancements and ecosystem expansion all in the pipeline. All future product development will be based on a combination of user feedback, provider feedback, data & research.

2. Team Growth
As the product & brand grows, so too must the team. We will build out the team across tech & marketing functions, to ensure that enough demand is generated to take up the services supplied on the app/platform by our provider partners.

3. Marketing
Whilst our strategy is rooted in user acquisition through commercial & provider partnerships, Switch must always work hard to maintain a top of mind awareness.

4. Office Space
As the team grows, Switch will relocate it's main base in Dubai from a serviced office environment, to a dedicated space - where we can bring together the team, our providers, commercial partners & users, in one place.

In order for the business to reach its full potential, the introduction of a strategic partner that would help take the business to the next level of growth will be required. Management will actively seek to identify these key potential partners through the ordinary course of business.

Further ahead, a trade sale, sale to private equity or IPO are all suitable/viable options for investor exits.
